Alumnae Hall of Excellence 

Mother of Mercy High School recently welcomed eight new members to its Alumnae Hall of Excellence.  The Hall, now in its 2nd year, recognizes exemplary Mercy graduates who achieve academic or professional excellence, contribute significantly to their professions or their communities, and who positively promote Mother of Mercy and its values.  They are true Women of Mercy.  It was a pleasure to honor eight alums from all walks of life at the school’s annual Honors Banquet, celebrating the success of these alumnae and allowing current Mercy students to witness what is possible as a woman of Mercy.  
 The newest members of the Mercy Alumnae Hall of Excellence are:  Maryann Gindele Barth ’68 (Educator/Advocate for the Deaf); Mary Jo Niklas Dangel ’64 (Journalism); Mary Kathleen Doerger Lorenz ’61 (Social Justice/Hunger Issues); D. Lynn Meyers ’73 (Fine Arts/Theatre); Jennifer Robb ’99 (Social Justice/Systemic Change); Laura Schreibeis ’79 (Mechanical Engineering); Deborah Gibbs Simpson ’69 (Business Administration); Libbey Spiess MD ’83 (pediatric medicine).




Seven alumnae were selected to be in the inaugural group in May 2009, receiving the first ever Mother of Mercy Hall of Excellence Award in recognition of their significant contribution to their professions and their dedication to Mercy. Their demonstrated excellence in their professions and commitment to Mercy make them powerful role models and wonderful sources of inspiration for our students and their outstanding accomplishments bring great pride to our entire Mercy family.  The recipients were: Robin Thompson Arthur ’82 (Clinical Psychologist), Pamela Mullen Boehm, ’83 (Mechanical Engineer), Kathleen Voss Brinkman ’61 (Retired Assistant U.S. Attorney), Shannon McCormick Chapman ’93 (Journalist/Communications), Tracie Weidner Metzger, ’88 (Non-profit Entrepreneur), Cindy M. Combs Roth ’76 (Law Enforcement) and Holly Schapker Wilson ‘88 (Artist).
