Hester Headed to State!

Congratulations to junior swimmer Rachael Hester who qualified for the State Swim Meet in both the 200 Yard Freestyle and the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Rachael also broke Mercy's school records in both of those events!  She will compete in the State Meet in Canton, Ohio this weekend. Preliminaries begin at 9 a.m. on Friday followed by finals starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Go Rachael!

• Two Best of the West titles: 100 Yard Breaststroke and 200 Yard Freestyle
• Qualified for the Coaches Classic Finals in each of her events; placed in the 100 and 200 Yard Breaststroke, the 200 Yard Freestyle and the mile swim
• Placed 2nd in the 100 Yard Breaststroke and 3rd in the 200 Yard Freestyle at GGCL
• Finished 3rd in the 100 Yard Breaststroke and 200 Yard Freestyle at Sectionals
• Dropped 3 seconds off her seed time in the 100 Yard Breaststroke at Districts
• In one season she broke 2 minutes for the first time in her 200 Yard Freestyle and dropped 10 seconds
• Seeded 15th in the State
