Yearbook Takes Top Prize at Camp

Mercy's Yearbook editors for the 2013 yearbook recently took the top prize at Yearbook Camp for Best Overall Theme Package.  Congratulations to Gabby Discepoli, Caroline Meyer and Maggie Walsh!

To win the prize,  the students had to use English and Journalism skills in writing and editing copy, artistic skills in creating designs and layouts, communication skills in describing (over the phone) exactly what they wanted to their cover artist, and techKNOWLEDGEy in switching effortlessly between different devices, platforms, and complex computer programs. "Two of the three editors are rookies and they outperformed staffs that had students with as much as 3 years experience," said Yearbook moderator and English teacher Greg Bouman. "These young ladies are fine leaders and excellent ambassadors of the Mercy spirit."
