Business/Technology Department


The Business/Technology Department offers a program to teach students to use the most current technology and also prepares them for a future in the business world. Our classes are held in both Mac and PC Labs. This enables our students to become proficient in the use of both types of computers. In addition, we also have a State of the Art Video Broadcasting Studio.

All students are required to take Computer Literacy for a semester during their freshman year. Most students take additional elective courses in this department throughout their sophomore through senior years.

Required Course: Computer Literacy
Electives: Broadcast Arts/Video Production, Web Page Design and Digital Media,
Accounting I With Computer Applications, Accounting II With Computer Applications, Advanced Computer Applications, Around The World Of Business A, and Around The World Of Business B.
Unique Opportunities
  • Broadcast Arts class produces the morning television announcements, publishes information of school activities on computer monitors located throughout the building, and videotapes Mercy activities before and after school.
  • The Web Page Design class helps to maintain Mercy's website
  • Business classes participate in State and National Competitions: Stock Market Game, Virtual Team Challenge, State of Ohio Commercial Advertising.
  • All of our students become proficient on both the Mac and PC platforms.
