PRINCIPAL POSITION OPENING
Mother of Mercy High School, Cincinnati, OH, announces its opening for an enthusiastic, faith-filled, caring, and talented educational leader to serve as its new Principal beginning July 1, 2010. Founded on the values established by the Sisters of Mercy, this forward-thinking institution of academic and extracurricular excellence for young women, grades 9-12, seeks a candidate who will inspire faculty and staff with the following qualities and skills:
*Student-centered leadership * Experience in secondary curriculum and professional development of faculty * Ability to cultivate collegiality and accountability among faculty and staff * Well-organized, collaborative skills with other educators, students, their families, and the community * Real strength in managing processes, people and time * Good working knowledge of budgets, contractual/legal obligations, and advanced technology * Excellent communication skills with genuine desire to empower, inform and motivate others * Accessible and approachable.
Position Summary: The Principal reports directly to the President of Mother of Mercy High School and is responsible for:
- Advancing the school's Catholic mission and Mercy values of faith, service, compassion, leadership and excellence;
- The quality of the school's religious, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs;
- The supervision and safety of students;
- Managing and motivating educational personnel;
- Cultivating mutually beneficial parent relations.
Further Qualifications:
- Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing and embodies the values of Mercy;
- Masters degree in educational administration and holds an Ohio secondary school principal license (or out-of-state equivalent);
- Minimum of three (3) years secondary teaching experience;
- Three (3) to five (5) years successful experience as a High School Principal preferred, or such alternatives to these qualifications as the President may find acceptable;
- Catholic school leadership experience preferred;
- Demonstrated innovative and effective strategy within a school setting;
- Willingness to work cooperatively with the President in all matters to further the mission of Mother of Mercy;
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity that will permeate every facet of leadership
