Mercy Students Attend Right to Life March

Thirty-six students and 5 adults attended the 37th annual Right to Life March in Washington, DC. Friday, January 22, the group met with Congressman Steve Driehaus out side the Capitol Building. He was kind enough to give us a personal tour of Congress’ room where they work and vote. Afterward, the group had the opportunity to tour the Senate side and the dome of the Capitol Building with a guided tour set up by Congressman Driehaus’ staff. Around noon, everyone gathered at The Mall for the Right to Life speeches and the March. On Saturday, before returning home, the entire group got to visit the ground of the White House and various local memorials including the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Korean War Memorial.
