Mother of Mercy Hall of Fame


2009 Inductees


Denise Ortman Harvey has been coaching volleyball at Mercy for 13 years, 3 as varsity assistant and 10 as Head Coach. Her record as a head coach is 164-78. In that time, Mercy has finished as State champs in 2007, State Runner Up in 2006, and Final Four in 2004. The program has earned 3 GGCL Titles, 2 Regional Championships and 9 District Championships.
Harvey has been named GGCL Coach of the Year (2004, 2006, 2007), SWOVBCA (City) Coach of the Year (2006, 2007), State Coach of the Year (2006, 2007), Enquirer Coach of the Year (2004, 2007).  Mercy Volleyball has also produced the Player of the Year in the league and/or City in 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008.  Denise Ortman Harvey played volleyball, basketball, and track and field while a student at Mercy. During that time, she was a member of the 1990 Regional Runner Up volleyball team and the 1990 State Runner Up Basketball Team. She also received the Lisa Moore Award.

Currently she works at Mercy as the Assistant Athletic Director, Assistant Recruiting Director and teaches Health and Physical Education. She lives on the West Side with husband, Fred, and son Fred III.

Kendra Zinser Mossburger was a two-sport athlete at Mercy, participating in soccer and basketball. As a soccer player, Kendra was named GGCL First Team in her junior and senior year. Also, as a senior, she was named First Team Enquirer, Post, and All City. She played in the East/West All Star game. She was a captain her senior year.

Kendra received a scholarship to play soccer for NKU, where the program was nationally ranked all four years. During that time, the team finished as National Runner up (freshman year), Final Four (sophomore year), and Elite Eight (Junior and Senior years). She was captain her senior year and is 6th all time career leader in goals, 5th in assists. Other awards include a four-year member of the All Academic Team, Female NKU Athlete of Distinction Award, NKU Career Achievement Award, and the Women’s Sports Foundation College Soccer Sportswoman of the Year Award.
Currently Kendra works as a CPA for Barnes Dennig and lives in White Oak with husband, Brandon
