Mercy Students Paint Mural at Mercy Hospital

| Six Mercy art students spent 2 weeks of summer vacation working on a mural at Mercy Hospital in Western Hills. The mural is an underwater scene that can be found on the lower level of the hospital near the cafeteria.

The six Mercy students are Katie Hautman, Katie Deitsch, Katie Minning, Nicole Barkalow, Katie Dowling and Ali Cremerling.

Congratulations, Class of 2010!
On June 1, the Class of 2010 entered the building one last time as high school students and exited as the newest members of Mercy's long line of prestigious alumnae. 100% of the Class of 2010 is continuing on to higher education, the third consecutive year of Mercy graduates to do so.
Diane Laake Named Mercy's New Principal
 | Diane Laake, assistant principal and director of admissions, has been named Mercy's new principal and will begin her new job as principal of Mother of Mercy High School on July 1. “I am very excited about the future of Mother of Mercy with Ms. Diane Laake as our principal,” said Mercy President Kirsten MacDougal who made the announcement. Ms. Laake has worked at Mercy for 31 years, beginning as a science teacher in 1979. She became the assistant principal in 2000. |
Maggie Kissinger Honored at YMCA Character Awards Program
Senior Maggie Kissinger was honored Monday night at the YMCA Character Awards Program. Forty students from across the tr-state where honored. The YMCA Character Award recognizes young who give back to their community, volunteer their time, do projects to help the less fortunate and not just make impact immediately but for the long term. Tomer and Chen, two teens from Israel are visiting Mother of Mercy High School this week to teach about Israel and Israeli culture.

Open House Celebrating Sr. Nancy's 20 Years

| In recognition of her outstanding leadership as the Principal of Mother of Mercy High School for the past 20 years, Mark Mallory, the Mayor of Cincinnati, proclaimed Monday, May 3, 2010 to be "Sr. Nancy Merkle Day".
An Open House in honor of Sr. Nancy was held on Monday, May 3, 2010. Many parents, student, and teachers stopped in to thank Sr. Nancy for her dedicated work here at Mercy and wish her well in her new endeavors.

Lisa Bodollo finalists in Acclaim/Theatre Educator Award
| Lisa Bodollo, Mercy Theatre director, has been named one of four finalists in the city for the Acclaim/Theatre Educator Award. Nominated by her students for "her amazing intensity and connection with her students," Ms. B also challenges her students to "dare to be remarkable!" The Theatre Educator Award will be announced on May 24 at the Acclaim Award gala at the Aronoff Center. |

Senior Kids Tour Hits the Road
The Mother of Mercy Senior Kids Tour has been on the road again to area elementary schools. Senior drama students write and produce short skits under the direction of Lisa Bodollo, Mercy drama teacher. The Senior Kids Tour Troupe is one of the only high school touring troupes in the Tri- State area and is dedicated to performing educational shows for school children in grades K-5.
